Karey Uhler, a 2004 Bachelor of Fine Arts in Visual Communications graduate of The Illinois Institute of Art — Chicago, talks about her work creating private label packaging for Crate and Barrel.
Uhler explains that private label packaging encompasses boxes, labels, hang tags, and inserts for the company's products. Uhler works with six buying teams to concept, design, and produce packaging, and she asserts that her notebook and sketchbooks are essential components in her design process. She encourages designers to learn to focus their energy and creativity to maximize efficiency on a project. |
